David Freedman,
Line Producer / 1st AD

Newindiefilm.com is the trading name of David Freedman Productions. I am a London based Line Producer and Production Manager working freelance with production companies and directors, predominantly in the UK, to manage their productions and advise and support on all aspects of filmmaking from script to screen through development and production to bring their dreams to life. Whether it's a 1 day Commercial, 2 day Short, 3-weekFeature or 4-month Series, I can help.

I studied Film and practical Filmmaking at London Met and Production Management at the National Film and Television School, where I was a Sargent-Disc scholar. In 2019 I was selected for the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew talent development programme. I additionally hold a BA in Politics and A-level in Business. I have worked on numerous Features and Shorts, as well as TV, Web series, Documentaries, Commercials, Music Videos and Corporate work in the UK and abroad. Many of the Features & Shorts I've worked on have gone on to enjoy success at festivals, been multi-award winners and signed distribution deals with established distributors, including in LA.

I recently production managed £2M Sci-fi horror feature The Seed, directed by Sam Walker, in Malta for Camelot Films / Hardman Pictures, backed by Ingenious Media and Lipsync Post, bonded by Film Finances and picked up by Shudder. In just a few years I have built up a reputation as both an accomplished Line Producer and Production Manager. I have also worked as an Assistant Director and am happy to multitask roles on small productions, if feasible.

My most recent work has also included roles as a qualified Covid Supervisor. I have had extensive experience prepping and filming with Covid Protocols and was one of the first people in the UK to complete the screen skills course on Managing Covid-19 Risks on Productions. Recent credits include the forthcoming Walt Disney Studios production of Pinocchio, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks. Plus, the forthcoming Lucasfilm Indiana Jones sequel, directed by James Mangold and starring Harrison Ford.
